How Much Power Does Your Car Have?

How much do you know about your vehicle? Maybe you only stay up to date on the tires, or on how the gears feel beneath your feet, or maybe you’re only using it to get from A to B and let the mechanic sort out the rest. No matter what kind of driver you are, there’s a good chance you’re missing out on some key stats about your car right now.

Working out whether or not your vehicle has the chance to go from 0 to 60 in less than a second takes a bit of tinkering, and a few checks here and there, but they’re not hard to do. All in all, if you’re not a car nerd, or you’re not too caught up on the vehicle you drive, your car could be really quite powerful, and you might not even know about it. And now, we’re going to go through just how powerful your vehicle might be, thanks to the reasons we’ve outlined below.

It’s All About the Engine

Engine performance is what makes your car so powerful, at its very core. They’re very simply systems, when you break them down, and being able to assess what kind of engine your car has is key to knowing what it’s capable of.

Engines are capable of multiple different driving modes, depending on what you’re working with, and it’s just another example of how versatile the technology in modern cars really is. For example, if you need a car to just get you around from A to B, but you’re also a lover of drifting, knowing that you have a b16 engine in the hood of your car (or looking for a car that has one) could make the model of your dreams.

Improving Engine Performance

You can also move on to improving the performance of your engine, no matter what kind is in your car. Using a variety of different products can go a long way for ensuring your car is moving fast and smooth, and the engine has no problem with turning over. Lubricants, most of all, are the best products for improving your engine, thanks to their power over reducing friction.

But you can also think about replacing various parts of the engine, to improve performance ten times over, and ensure your vehicle is running at its best. For example, checking your ignition status, and whether or not the components of your ignition need to be replaced, should be top of the list. Car ignitions get ignored a lot the time when it comes to car maintenance, so even if you’re not curious about your engine, give it a check next time you’re in your car.

The amount of power in your car is all up to the horsepower and torque of the engine you’re running with. Make sure to check it over, to see if anything needs improving, and what your car is really capable of when you’re out on the road.
